was passed by the Legislative Council on

the 10th. April together with copy of a notice dated 11th.

which read as follows:-

"With reference to your Confidential Despatch

8th. February resolution passed by Legislative Council prohibiting export of Persian Opium places other than Formosa and London it has been suggested to Governor of Straits Settlements desirability of action of a similar kind with regard to Singapore otherwise it is possible that legitimate trade from here will be interfered with by smuggling being carried on Singapore.
